COM499 Political Communication, Cal Poly Pomona
Explores the process of utilizing language and symbols to influence political and/or civic outcomes; it is the study and practice of strategic communication in a sociopolitical context. Introduces students to the political institutions and players influencing policy-making and campaigns, and cultivates an understanding of how candidates, public officials, and campaign operatives craft messages and target various audiences in a changing media environment. (fall 2016, winter 2016).
